A snapshot from an ancient iPhone 4 wins a prize in a prestigious photography competition

Smartphone cameras are getting better every year, but it has been repeatedly proven that you can take impressive pictures even with inexpensive models. The main thing is the skillful hands of the photographer. Another proof of this is the results of the annual iPhone Photography Awards (IPPA), in which owners of Apple smartphones take part. Prize-winning places in it were taken by frames received by far from the newest devices.

First place: Artyom Baryshev from Belarus. Shot with iPhone 6
Second place: Geli Zhao from China. Shot with iPhone XS Max
Third place: Saif Hussein from Iraq. Shot with iPhone X

The best photo was taken by Dimpi Bhalotia from Great Britain in the opinion of the jury. Her photo “The Flying Boys” was taken on an iPhone X. The first place went to Artyom Baryshau from Belarus for the photo “Without Walls”, taken on the iPhone 6. The second was taken by Geli Zhao from China, taken with the iPhone XS Max. Third place went to Saif Hussein from Iraq for his iPhone X shot.

The organizers of the competition also noted the best works in different categories. Surprisingly, many of the shots were taken with older iPhones. Especially stands out the shot of Omar Lucas, who won first place in the “People” category and was shot with the iPhone 4 released back in 2010.
