In the next two years, Apple intends to completely abandon Intel processors and start using its own ARM chipsets in all its computers. Microsoft, with the support of Qualcomm, is also making attempts to migrate Windows devices to mobile chips, but so far without success. According to the new data, Samsung intends to be directly involved in this process.
According to SamMobile, Samsung has already developed a special version of its flagship Exynos 990 processor used in the Galaxy S20 smartphones for personal computers. However, the company is in no hurry to announce this, as it is not sure that the chipset will cope with the tasks of personal computers. At the same time, the South Korean giant does not intend to abandon this promising direction.
It is reported that Samsung is developing a different chipset for computers running Windows based on the future Exynos 1000, which is supposed to be produced using a 5nm process technology. According to rumors, the smartphone version of this processor will be equipped with integrated graphics from AMD, but the PC version may use a different GPU.
At the moment, all these are just rumors, and so far there is no evidence to confirm the emergence of Windows computers based on Exynos processors.
