We recall the important events of the outgoing week. In this issue: the launch of a Chinese taxi in Russia, an emulator of the original PS1 on the Playstation 4, a first look at the Poco F2 Pro and an updated list of MIUI 12 contenders.
Yandex. Taxi and Citymobil have a strong competitor from the Middle Kingdom – Didi Chuxing. The player is wealthy: in 2016 he took and bought the entire Chinese division of Uber. The deal cost a pretty penny – $ 28 billion, but the investment was justified in full. The service became the largest in the country, capturing a client base of almost 500 million users. At home, DiDi is also engaged in drones, cargo transportation, food delivery, car sharing, and bike rental.
And now this giant comes to Russia. First of all, they will take Kazan: here, in the coming weeks, the application “DiDi Driver” will be launched and the taxi will be hammered. By September-December, the Chinese plan to reach Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
With the arrival of a new player, big changes are coming, but not all of them are for the better. On the one hand, DiDi will bring with it a lot of new and cool services, and it will also bring down the average price tag of trips. On the other hand, the quality of services may become worse, because even now the tariffs have been reduced by at least 1.5 times.
PlayStation 4: what’s in the box?
Sony has attached a PS1 emulator to the PlayStation 4 . But you should not be very happy about this, because there is no question of full-fledged backward compatibility. Data miner Lance MacDonald believes that the emulator was added exclusively for MediEvil. With it in the remake, you can unlock and run the original version. But attempts to do the same with other PS1 games were in vain. Only Silent Hill started without crashes, but it still didn’t work out normally because of a heap of artifacts. In general, the only hope is for craftsmen.
Recall that the first PlayStation was released in 1994 – almost 20 years before the release of the still relevant PS4. The long-awaited PS5 is expected to premiere at the end of 2020.
Take a look at Poco F2 Pro
Poco F1 debuted in 2018 and was immediately liked by the public: many were then hooked by a top-end processor at an affordable price. Fans have been impatiently waiting for two years, and now the successor – Poco F2 Pro on Snapdragon 865 – has been brought to the shelves. In comparison with its predecessor, the new Pokophone looks more balanced. We took a good look at the new product: twisted it in our hands, took photos and videos, walked through the weak points. MIUI 12: updated list of devices
In April, Xiaomi promised to make every effort to ensure that MIUI 12 received as many devices as possible. No sooner said than done. The brand recently made adjustments to its roadmap. The developers have clarified the models of smartphones that can count on fresh firmware from the onset of August. The list of 23 devices includes both new items and models presented during the Android 8.1 Oreo.
Meanwhile, the company noted that only Xiaomi Mi 10 and Poco F2 Pro will receive branded ” super wallpapers “. Animated icons will go to Mi 10, Redmi Note 8 Pro, and both Pokophones.
